STUDIO
NEW STUDIO
ALL WEEKLY CLASS TIMES STAY THE SAME
All the regular class times will stay the same. I have included a weekly calendar below.
MORNING CLASSES
These will be at the usual time of 10am - 12 midday.
EVENING CLASSES
These will be at the usual time of 6PM - 8 PM.
POSSIBLE EXTENDED TIMES FOR EVENING CLASSES
Just in case there are any time delays with getting over to the studio for the evening classes (traffic on the bridge) there will be flexibility around the time the class finishes.
CATCH-UP CLASSES
You will see from the weekly calendar below that the Monday afternoon slot is still a catch-up class. So any artists who have had to miss a class for whatever reason, can make up the time on a Monday morning. Artists can also make up time in other classes throughout the week if spaces become available. Please discuss with me during the week or email/text to to get a time in the diary.
We will continue with the weekly wall chart to register for catch-up.
Please note that the catch-up time is now 2 hours - the studio will be open from 2pm -5pm so there will be an additional fee of £5 to stay for the full 3 hours.
EXTRA TIME
Extra studio time will be available on Wednesday afternoons - if there is interest this can be extended to other afternoons.
WHY ARE WE MOVING?
After having run the studio from the house for 8 years it now feels like the right time to find new studio space. I have decided on Newhaven after a long search for space in Seaford without any luck.
We have spent the spring term testing out the studio to see if it would work and I think it does. Also the feedback from all that have been over for Monday afternoon catch-up classes as well as those who have attended the life classes, has been good.
EASTER PREPARATION
During the Easter holidays I will be preparing the studio to make it an effective space for our weekly workshops.
Because of the higher ceilings we will be able to have good drying space for oil paintings.
A FEW PLANS
-
The flexibility of the space will allow artists to choose whether they work on desktop or easels from week to week.
-
I will be setting up Seawhites deliveries to the new studio - say every fortnight, so more regular access to materials without having to wait for my next trip to the factory shop. As always artists will benefit from the wholesale prices we get as a small art school.
-
Make canvases available (if anyone wants to work on canvas these can be available in the studio at Seawhites wholesale prices)
-
Opportunities for new events for example: a monthly film night (free access), possible visiting artists and talks. Suggestions welcome.
WHEN ARE WE MOVING?
All classes will be at the new Newhaven studio at the start of the Summer term, from the week starting 15th April.
WHERE IS THE NEW STUDIO?
We are on Denton Island in Newhaven at the Newhaven Enterprise Centre. The address and a map is under LOCATION in the top menu - or click on this link:
